Is it worth getting Planet Fitness, Planet Fitness near me is one of the most popular gyms thanks to its infamous "Alarm Lank" style and relaxed approach to fitness. I recently went to my best friend from Planet Fitness near me with a friend to see if the membership was worth it.
My experience working at Planet Fitness near me

The staff was friendly, but they committed to making me sign up for memberships. I wouldn't sign up for one unless I'm new to exercise or it's the only gym near me. Planet Fitness has the lowest monthly costs of any gym I've been to, but you really get what you pay for.
Planet Fitness setup and equipment does not fit my training style. Despite his message about being friendly and welcoming to everyone, I felt like I wasn't out of his place there. Other commercial gyms cost more, but you will have access to better equipment and a friendlier environment.

- They provide a fair amount of services. For a low monthly price, you'll get massage chairs and tanning beds, you can bring a guest at any time and you'll get discounts on drinks from the juice bar.
- You can connect to their Wi-Fi for free. This is a good feature because you don't have to waste data on your cell phone plan if you want to listen to music or watch videos while working out.
- The cost is reasonable and there are not many hidden fees. Planet Fitness membership plans are among the least expensive I've seen in a chain of gyms lately. The gym is also upfront about all of their fees so you know exactly how much you will be paying.
Negative Planet Fitness near me
- No irons. There was not a single iron bar in sight at the Pompton Lakes site. Planet Fitness aims to be a judgment-free gym, but for an organization trying to welcome everyone, the lack of basic strength equipment has been a turning point.
- Dumbbells weigh only 50-75 pounds. Most other gyms have weights up to 100lbs, so this is a huge disadvantage for Planet Fitness.
- Failure to follow the rules will actually cause workers to turn off the alarm. I honestly always thought the alarm clock was just an advertising tactic used in TV commercials for the gym. I was surprised to find out that it was actually a thing and the staff actually used it! It can be embarrassing for an employee to talk to you in private if you've done something wrong, but it can be embarrassing to be singled out in a loud and obnoxious way.
